My soon to be fiancé was engaged many, many years ago (8ish or so ago). He has a diamond ring that is an expensive diamond (15k) great, clarity, cut, etc. We are getting engaged and he asked if I would use the diamond and have it set in another setting that I design. I agreed only bc A) the diamond is the exact shape, color, and everything else I would pick anyways. I am getting it set in a setting that I designed and got a band that I picked. He has the ring bc he was never able to resell it for what he paid. Is this weird to anyone? It’s literally the diamond that’s being used. She also never got the ring or wore it
