I just finished my first month of the pill and wondered how long should I still have my husband wear a condom? My doctor said use something for the first cycle and then I read it takes 3 months for it to be effective?

Most birth control only takes a full 7 days of consistent use to be effective (unless ur specific birth control leaflet says otherwise, then in which it would be a month at the most). It can take 3-6 months for ur body to adjust to the hormones, meaning u can experience irregularities with bleeding & other side effects during that time, but that has nothing to do with effectiveness of pregnancy prevention. So, as long as ur taking the pills properly/consistently, then ur already continuously 99.7% protected at this point.
