Breastmilk?

Question

Anything else I can do to make my milk finally come in? My baby is 3 days old. He has high bilirubin so I am desperate to feed him as much breastmilk so he poops it out. Right now I am breasfeeding what I can give and supplementing with formula at the same time. I also pump after just to stimulate it. I am desperate. I am a FTM and I feel like a failure :( Any advice????

Be patient, and always ask a doctor before using any teas or supplements to try to boost your production, they can actually dry up your supply sometimes.
Try to keep yourself relaxed, keep hydrated and try to eat well. Your body knows what to do, it just takes little time to build up. Patience, slow and steady wins the race

It takes on average 3-5 days for milk to come in. You have to be careful with pumping on top of nursing before supply regulates. That is calls for over supply and lots of problems. 
Really shouldn’t pump until 6wks anyway. Just let baby nurse on demand. Baby won’t eat much right now anyway as the stomach is the size of a cherry. Literally like only a teaspoon or so the first few days. By 1wk it should be .5-.75 of an ounce.

My milk didn’t come in until day four, I have read it can take up to five days. I just woke up feeling like I had bowling balls on my chest😅

Mines took about a week to come in. Just keep pumping 8 times a day maybe more. I started with only 1/2 oz than up to 3oz and now I’m pumping over 10oz sometimes more each pump and I only pump 4 times a day now. Every morning I have oatmeal with lots of water and I eat lots of protein w/veggies for lunch and dinner

Just keep pumping. We were in hospital for a while cause jaundice and the bilirubin wouldn’t get better. When we got home she didn’t poop for weeks. I just kept pumping even if only drops came out and I nursed and nursed allll day. It comes eventually

What kind of breast pump are you using?

My baby had high bilirubin and I ended up having to give formula to make it go away. Get a supplementer system from amazon and use that to give the formula so baby stays at breast. Learn from my mistakes! I wish I had done that for every feed. Good luck I know it can be scary.

It can take up to 5 days for you milk to come in.  After that if you still have troubles with supply you can try pumping, oatmeal i usually have it for breakfast and mither milk tea. Later in the day
