Just need to vent
So I had a baby at the beginning of March. My husband was given 3 weeks paternity leave, plus the extra 2 weeks he took on top of that. Well with this COVID-19 going on, he hasn’t returned to work. I am on maternity leave for 3 months.
Well here is what I need to vent about. Well our baby was extremely fussy the first couple weeks after we brought her home (we thought she had colic). For like the last 2 weeks, he’s been playing video games ALL DAY LONG. Like from the time he gets up, to when he comes to bed at 2 in the morning (one night he played until 6 am). Our girl is extremely fussy in the evenings, not sure if anyone else experiences this. He plays video games in the living room. Well he has literally told me that when she starts getting fussy and it takes me a minute to calm her, that I need to take her to the nursery upstairs or to our bedroom cause he can’t hear his game through the headset. When I have confronted him about needing his help, he has said ‘well you wanted this... I didn’t want a baby for a while,’ or that I’m being a cry baby when I get upset about the subject. (we spent 7 months actively TTC, so she wasn’t a surprise.) he also barely gives me the opportunity during the day to take a shower cause if she gets fussy, he will get mad and tell me I need to hurry up to get her.
I have cried every day or every other day because I feel like even though he is here, I’m doing this by myself. I just need some advice on what to do or how to handle the situation.
