My first date wasn't at a restaurant. I think it was at a park🤔 We got ice cream. I paid for mine he paid for his. ☺️
On our first real date yes, he paid. I offered to pay my part but he refused.

I did, cause we were 18 and he was in a band (so he was broke lol)! 😅 
We’ve been together for 10 years and now he makes all the money. 
I’d say if you’re older, though, you should probably pay for your own! Maybe even do something that doesn’t require money? So you don’t have to think about it, just focus on each other.

My husband paid for everything thing in the beginning to the point it would annoy me. I was a poor college kid at the time and he was working.
Now I make 3x his salary and he still "pays" but with mostly my money from our joint account. I don't love carrying my purse or wallet so it works out well.
