My son was born April 12th on Easter and on his exact due date! He is sooo sweet and he’s our first!

So my colostrum came in at the hospital, we were there 2 days. Home on the 14th now today is the 18th (he’s 6 days old) - my breast milk isn’t enough for him to gain weight, he lost a whole pound as of yesterday’s first pediatrician appt. I’m having to supplement with donor milk to help him gain and am on a feeding/pumping plan for the time being until my milk can be efficient enough to sustain my little dude. Right now I’ve been pumping since yesterday every 3 hours for 20 - 30 min and each time only produce a little over an ounce. My lactation consultant says my milk is coming... but I feel like this is so little by day 6. So.. am I being impatient or realistic in thinking I might not ever produce more!? I’m taking good supplements and massaging my breast’s and doing a lot to try and get them to produce more. I suppose I’m just reaching out to see what happened to others if they experienced slow milk production during the first week too and how it went for them? Thanks mama community!
