She took my money and GHOSTED... 🤦‍♀️
My best friend of 12 years had asked to borrow money to prevent her from losing her apartment and custody of her newborn baby.
I considered this girl like my sister so of course I had agreed to help her out in her time of need. Along with the $600 that I had lent her, I had also put together a baby care package (about $60-$70 worth) with everything from new clothes, pacifiers, wipes, diapers, bottles, lotion, bath stuff, etc that she may need as a new mother. She had promised and swore to pay the money back within 2 weeks and had stated that her baby’s father would also have some money by then.
2 weeks came and go with no answer from her so I reached out to her. She gave a sob story and I bought into it and lent her more time. I even offered a payment plan even if she only pays $5 here or $10 there atleast she was trying and she had agreed. I tried to be a bit lenient (my mistake) because she had said that she was broke and struggling. I later found out that she was lying and had a job.
Long story short she came up with more ridiculous lies to get out of paying every time it was time such as “being robbed twice” and “raped” so she needed the money to get an abortion and so on yet she managed to always be able to afford to buy weed and other unnecessary things. Also, the excuses were 100% confirmed lies, but shows the extent of what she did to avoid paying me back.
After I had confronted her and asked about my money, she goes on to block me from every social media that I’ve had her on, my number, changed her phone number and moved from her address so I couldn’t serve her court papers.
I loved this girl like a sister and am hurt because I would NEVER do anything like that to anyone no matter what I was going through. ESPECIALLY when they were nice enough to help me when they didn’t have to. Sometimes I resent having a good heart because my kindness is often taken advantage of by others.
Looking back I see that it was a STUPID move on my end and that I deserve that, but you live and you learn I guess...
