Worst time to be pregnant?

This might sound weird but sometimes I just think to myself that this is the worst time to be pregnant. Don’t get me wrong, I’m over the moon and I know pregnancy is a miracle! I just get really worried that this is just bad timing to bring a baby into this world 🙁🙁🙁

Another way to look at it is instead of worst time try saying it’s a very strange time to be pregnant. Even for us I’m thankful we’re in August when hopefully were more on a downward slope. I feel really bad for those that were due during the height of this, especially at the NYC hospitals that were refusing any visitors even during delivery. I think things are going to get really ugly this fall/winter so I’ve been more worried about having a newborn during this new “unknown”. I’m also worried for moms with due dates farther out, like the winter babies because I feel like they’ll be a bad resurgence and they’ll likely have the strictest restrictions during those times.
I’m on baby #2 but I have felt really bad for new moms out there because it’s just such a strange time and all the normal joys of pregnancy have really been stripped away from new moms. A lot of partners can’t come to appointments, no reveals, anatomy scans getting pushed back, appointments flat out cancelled, no baby showers, loss of jobs and money worries, not to mention what things may be like when we deliver.

I’m trying to take positives from it. I’m furloughed from my job so can put my feet up instead of working full time and we can’t go anywhere so we aren’t spending any unnecessary money. Plus my husband and I are getting loads of quality time together before the baby arrives. Doesn’t make up for the horrible state of the world or missing out on sharing pregnancy with family and friends but there are some good things

I’m not too terribly bothered by being pregnant at this time. I try to find the positives such as working from home and wearing comfortable yoga pants rather than squeezing into dresses and “nice” clothes for work. I also feel like I’m not missing out on things because I’m pregnant. I may have had a little FOMO seeing everyone at concerts, or sipping a cocktail on a patio. I would absolutely never wish this terrible time upon any of us but I try to think of the above things to help get me through it. Best wishes to all you lovely mommas 💙

Yeah it’s a crap time. I am happy I got pregnant when I did though. Lots of things make my husband push trying and he’d probably make us wait another year if it didn’t happen before this virus and that would break my heart. It’s an uncertain time with the virus but I have family and friends that have all had babies in the last months and they are doing great. This will all pass!

Totally agreed but at the same time my son better be prepared for all the exaggerated stories he will hear from me. “When I was pregnant with you, it was like the world was going to end. There was not a human in sight. Time no longer existed”. He’s going to be so fed up 😂 hey as long as you and Bub are healthy don’t worry!

While it is definately difficult and a little scary to be pregnant during the pandemic, I also feel it is a wonderful thing. When I get down about the situation I just focus on the life that I'm bringing into this world, my baby that I'm carrying, and I remember to be strong for him, and that while there are many awful things happening in the world right now, it is balanced out by the beauty and joy of new life ❤

I feel the same. I'm so busy trying to work from home, help my kids with school and how to navigate their emotions amd frustrations it isnt anything special feeling. We tried for YEARS and now I'm very meh.

Yuuuup same. I am so in live with this tiny human but at the same time I definitely did not envision this as being the state of the world. I’m definitely nervous about what life is going to look like when he makes his debut.
