Is the stuff that comes directly from the Canadian government shittier or less pure than what you would get from a stoner owned dispensary or company?

I just bought my grandma cbd oil from a reputable company in Toronto, it’s where I also get it for my cat. But she says she’s getting a prescription from the government instead. Which kind of sucks cause I just paid $50 for it but anyways.. I’m just wondering if the stuff directly from the government will work as good or if it’s more synthetic/less potent then getting a pure one from a company you can tell the people love what they do.
