Bring home outfit?

SO feels like we need the traditional onesie with pants and mittens and socks and whatnot. But baby boy is due in August. In Texas. However, hospitals and our house are both very cool. I have no idea what to put him in to bring him home. Plus, newborns get swaddled right? Help 😂
Has anyone decided on an outfit?

Genuine question, not trying to be provocative...
Why is the bringing baby home outfit such a big deal. Why would they wear anything different to what they would wear any other day? 
FTM and I am so confused by how you are supposed to dress a baby.

When I think of bringing home outfit I think of cute first picture outfit. So this is what we are buying for that. Just a matching swaddling blanket and hat! Then he will just have something normal underneath to actually travel home in (it will be super hot here as well)

Honestly can’t even remember what we brought my daughter home in from the hospital. Trust me, it’ll all be a blur. As long as its clothes if some kind, you’re good!

Yes it’s hot but typically you’re going from the cold hospital, to a car with cold AC, and bringing them home into a cold house with AC. So if that’s the case for you then you’ll still want pants and a onesie. They typically have 1 more layer than you would, so if your in a T-shirt and shorts, they could wear a short sleeve onesie and pants, ect.

A onesie, pants and a hat. I put my newborns in long the long sleeve onesies with the attached mittens (since those things always fall off). Since they’re going from an AC building to and AC car back to an AC building they’re outside for less than a minute you don’t have to worry about the heat.

I bought these from PatPat. We have a boy due in Aug too. I bought one to bring him home in, and one for his hospital pictures.....these were my husbands choices, his first boy lol.

I bought this for my son to come home in! He’s my first baby so my friends and family recommended something easy to change his diaper in! And I don’t think it’s vain at all. I’ll always cherish his “take home” outfit. I’ll always remember what I brought my baby home in.

I know this wasn’t asked but bring more than one “coming home” outfit. With my oldest right before we were leaving the hospital they took him for one more thing. I can’t remember what it was but the nurse decided to change his diaper and he peed all over his outfit!! Be prepared and bring at least two!!
