my pregnancy was as unplanned as it gets (had an IUD, never planned on having children EVER, just graduated high school, boyfriend and i were going to break up before going off to college, etc.) so it makes sense that most of my pregnancy was really tough. i quickly became very excited about becoming a mom (thanks to pregnancy hormones and an amazing support network) but still hated being pregnant and couldn’t wait for it to be over.

however, these last few weeks have been really special. i had my baby shower in march (before the world exploded!), i painted my room, set up all the baby stuff, and have had lots of time to just enjoy feeling my baby girl kick. i realized that i would one day miss being pregnant, and wanted to take some amateur maternity photos.

my friend did them for me, and i love how fun they are!

i had to pee but there were no bathrooms, so i popped a squat behind a pile of logs. luckily, i’ve gotten in the habit of carrying my diaper bag with me to get used to it, and i used my very first baby wipe! but it was on myself. still, i wanted to commemorate the moment:

i’m so glad i had a friend do my photos for me, because i was so comfortable doing whatever i wanted! i love how imperfect and goofy they are. i hope everyone is finding ways to stay joyful!!
