Advice for being induced?

I'm scheduled this Thursday to start the induction process with cervidil or cytotec. I'll be 39+4 and 1 cm dilated 50% effaced. I am so nervous!! The dr told me I could have the baby that day, or if it doesn't work he'll have me come back at 39+6 to do another dose. Then he had me schedule another appointment next Monday "just in case". 
Does anyone have any advice or words of wisdom? I'm praying this all goes smoothly but I'm so scared of the unknown!

My best advice is to just be patient. Be open minded and try to relax as much as possible! I was induced with cytotec first at 39+3 and it didn’t work for me. I didn’t even know it was an option for it to not work, so like I said, be open minded. Let your body do its thing and try to stay distracted and relaxed. Good luck!

I was induced at 38 +5 due to pre-eclampsia. They started with cytocec like areoind 9pm on April 9th and took the full 6 doses. I think it finally got me to a 4. Then i got pitocin?. A few hours later they did a cervical check and i barely progressed so they were going to break my water. A few minutes later i yell at my husband to help me go to the bathroom cause I was having so much pelvic pain and i thought i peed myself. I was so embarrassed lol, i just sat on the edge of the bed crying while he called the nurse. When she came to help me go to the bathroom everything gushed out lol. She helped me clean up and discussed pain meds and epidural and I was like ok im fine now. Literally like less than 10 min after my water broke i had a killer contraction and kept getting them. My pain went from a 2 to a 500! I was like i need that epidural now!. They put in a foley catheter, im not sure if they used a ballon. They kept checking my progress and after a while the midwife suggested I start pushing. The nurse spent almost 3 hrs working with me while I pushed. I had to go on oxygen. 
Finally i heard all these people come in and lights turning on etc. And everyone was encouraging me to keep pushing and they were like hold it! I felt massive pain and pressure when the baby head was in my vagina and felt the rest of her body twist out of me and heard the cry. I think i was in shock cause i wasnt expecting it to be painful. They put the baby in my arms and hadmy husband cut the cord. I was in tears and didnt think i was going to be able to do it lol. She told me to push one more time and showed me the placenta. I had to get stitches but at that point nothing mattered. We went on April 9th, had the baby on the 11th at 6pm and was released from hospital close to 6pm on the 12th. They are trying not to keep people there.
My suggestion is to not be afraid to ask for meds and to write down your story right away. Im still trying to remember parts of it but its a blur now. Also if they let your husband stay bring tons of snacks. The hospital food will not be enough and he cant leave. Also dont bring so much crap. I didnt really use anything other than toiletries because you will have no visitors and they want you out of there Asap.

Try to stay at the hospital after your first dose if they will let you. I was induced on Thursday with a balloon and then cervidil. The balloon helped but the cervidil worked faster than we thought, and my water broke naturally and contractions started coming regularly and hard after that. It actually happened so much faster than I thought as I was expecting a multiple day process. So just be mentally prepared for either scenario. I’m glad i chose to stay in the hospital for a bit to see how I progressed. I also received an epidural not long after my water broke as they started a low dose of pitocin and my contractions were coming closer together and strong. No matter what happens, you can do it! It’s the most empowering thing ever!

I started contracting pretty regularly about an hour after the cervidil was placed. I was also 1cm 50% thinned when they started it. When they took it out 12 hours later I was 1cm 90% so they went ahead and gave me pitocin and broke my water to speed things up. Hopefully your body takes over and it’ll be the same day!

I was induced with cervidil at 39+5 started at 1cm after a few hours I was 50% effaced but still at a 1 ..after the 12 hours of it being in I was at a 2 my doctor broke my water,  and pitocin was started.. I was progressing very well  ...but it ended in a c-section cause baby couldn’t handle the contractions ..just relax and hopefully your body takes over and does exactly as it should ❤️🙏🏼 good luck mama!
