Help- crib transitioning
We’re transitioning to the crib this week and the first 3 days went well. She’s had no trouble falling asleep those days, our main problem was her getting up in the middle of the night and not going back down for hours, though by Sunday she was back down within an hour.
Last night was a complete sh!tshow. Normally she falls asleep between 7:30 and 8 on her own, last night she didn’t fall asleep until 8:45 with help from my husband. She woke up again in 45 min, full crying, had to pick her up to console her. Rocked her back to sleep, put her down, wakes up 5 min later, have to bring her downstairs to rock her in the recliner (my last resort), finally get her to sleep by 11. She wakes up two hours later, won’t soothe with soother, rock her, put her back down, wakes up again. My husband tries to get her to asleep, let’s her cry for 10 min even, but did not work. I eventually get her down somewhere around 2-3, and she’s now awake at 6 am.
Several questions: She clearly has not had enough sleep. Should I have her nap longer today, with the whole sleep begets sleep thing in mind, or will that affect her night sleep more?
It could be teething- when do you give baby something for pain? I can email my doctor and ask as well.
Anybody else have a similar experience? Is this typical behaviour when transitioning, even after good nights?
