I recently got pregnant, it’s my 2nd pregnancy but my first one ended in a miscarriage! Well I have 3 step children 13, 11, and 8. The 13 year old stated to me a couple months back that she hopes that they (my step children) don’t get treated differently once my husband and I start to have kids. I have reassured her that’s not going to happen, but in my mind she won’t understand that until the baby is here. For a little background I am the oldest of 3 and none of my siblings have children, so this will be my parents “first” grandchild. Well my parents live 2 hours away and don’t come here very often, maybe 1 or 2 times a year.

I told my mother that I was pregnant and she is excited, which is to be expected. However, now my 13 year old is very upset, crying and explaining “see I told you”.

If anyone has dealt with this before please reach out with any advice for me... I just want to ease the feelings that this child of mine is feeling.
