Unpopular opinion!?

I’m so glad I had my baby during this time!! I had a home birth so I had only the people I truly needed at my birth and then afterwards it’s been so nice to not have to worry about getting ready or entertain people coming over. I feel like it’s a huge blessing to have zero expectation to go anywhere and just stay home!

I haven’t had my baby yet, I so agree! With my first, we had about 12 people waiting while I was in labor and then show up in the room after he was born. I was SO overwhelmed and it was one of the triggers that sent me into postpartum anxiety. I’m so happy that we will be in our own bubble this time around!

I had my baby a month ago but at the hospital which didn’t allow any visitors and honestly it was kinda nice. It allowed us to focus on being new parents and we were able to bond with our baby without being interrupted by tons of people visiting. When we got home we did allow both of our parents to come over to meet her but that’s it and we actually put a stop to that as well after a week so it’s been really nice not having to entertain anyone and not having to worry about saying “no” cause we suck at that too lol

This has hands down been my most difficult recovery and its primarily due to not having visitors. Visitors help so much postpartum - practically and also helping me not feel isolated. I’m sure there are many who enjoy the alone time. But personally, visitors help me a ton and it’s been rough not having many

I'm having a homebirth too and am super excited that I have a ready made excuse to not have any people over and just chill as a family. Must be a homebirth thing 😆

I planned on working until a week before my induction because I felt guilty taking time off work. But because of the lock downs in place, I've had 4 weeks off before. I've taken so many naps and cleaned my house without stressing. When I was working I would have breakdowns weekly about not feeling prepared. But the stay at home order has been a slight blessing for me. I also feel guilty telling people no, and now I don't have a choice and can be selfish with my little baby when they come soon.

Yep! We’ve said how much we are loving being in our own bubble! We are due on Monday and are planning a homebirth and my mum is coming to stay with us from Thursday as my dad will return from work Friday morning and we don’t want to risk any chance of the virus after him being in contact with people etc but other than my mum we will have no visitors and I can’t wait! Especially cause my in-laws are controlling, useless etc etc they’ve not seen our 3yr8m since Christmas yet they’d be round here like a shot playing the doting grandparents for our new baby and I can’t stand that so I am very glad of the lockdown!

I’m honestly looking forward to this also! With my first I found us traveling a lot for family to see him and I’m so glad we have an excuse to focus on just us! (we suck at saying “no”) so to not have any guilt with wanting this time is such a stress reliever
