Do I shave with or against hair direction?

I read a lot of comments in this app saying a good way to prevent razor bumps is to shave with the direction of the hair but when I do it it doesn’t feel as soft as shaving against the hair.

i get majority going with, then one time i go against while pulling my skin tight just to get the little stubble. i exfoliate w a coffee/ sugar scrub after and use coconut oil. it seems to help prevent the bumps

I shave with the hair first, then I go diagonal or sideways instead of upwards. I find that underwear also has a huge part to play 😂
