Baby shape head.

Before anyone tells me right now to go to the doctor, doctor isn’t taking any visits right now except emergencies.

I just need to know if any other babies have this and if it’s “normal” to calm my nerves for the mean time.

Since 3 months, i noticed my baby had a flat dent towards the back of her head. Took her in and doctor said, she didn’t think it was anything to worry about.

9 months later, (she’ll be 1 in a week) and she still has it. It’s not from sleeping because it’s farther up the back of her head, and it’s not a fontalle either.

It’s just literally a flat area of her head.

It’s about the size of your palm, and it’s flat and then curves downwards. It’s literally the only flat part of her head but everything else feels fine. Worried??

Orange shoes where it’s at. If you were to put your hair up in a ponytail, that’s the area.

Yup, we have the exact same thing. A Flat-ish area, about the size of my palm, centered just below the top of the head. We also noticed early, and told our doctor who was also completely unconcerned (like the poster’s). The “where you put a ponytail” comment was kind of brilliant, because... feel your own head. I think mine is shaped the same as my baby’s. So, genetic? This does not feel like an emergency AT ALL. Mention it at your next routine visit for 12-month shots. But I suspect you’ll be reassured, not referred.

Can you put in a photo where exactly it is on your baby? How old is your baby? And when did you Notice? What did the doctor say??

Hello, I suggest even though it isn't an emergency that you contact her pediatrician and see if you can get in with a specialist. Any concern with their shape of head has to be seen and measured in person. Infants plates start to connect so it is a priority. Send your pediatrician pictures and push for a specialist. Best wishes.

More tummy time get baby off his head more jumper time or holding time. My son would favor one side of his head than the other.
