VBAC experiences ?

Does anyone have experience with a VBAC? I had a c-section with my first, due to failure to dialate and I really want to go for a VBAC with this one. Does anyone have a successful or even failed VBAC experience? The thought is starting to make me nervous.

I had a VBAC with my second, also didn’t dilate with my first and then his heart rate started dropping. I was very nervous about having a repeat c-section since my recovery was rough. After getting a lot of conflicting information online and honestly having some doctors scare me about the risk of the vbac, I ended up asking one of the female doctors in my practice, who delivered my first, and also had a c-section, what she would do for her second. She shared that she had to have a repeat c because her baby was breech, but if it was an option she would have had a VBAC. I decided to go with the VBAC and am so happy I did. Delivery went very smoothly. Recovery was so easy compared to the c-section! I was able to pick up, hold and play with my 2 year old. Also, I always planned on having 3 so that’s something else you should consider, the risk associated with repeat c-sections increases with each one. Good luck with whichever decision you make!

I’m planning for an HBAC. I’m sorry you went through that. “Failure to progress” is such a freaking bogus reason to have surgery. Birth progresses differently for every pregnancy. 
You need a very VBAC friendly dr AND hospital if you plan to VBAC in a hospital.

Join the above group. I am going for my vbac as well and there are woman from all over in that fb group having successful vbac. If your doctor doesn’t encourage it then find a new one cause I have seen all sorts of stories even woman getting a vbac getting pregnant 4 months after their c section. I’ve loved the group so far and I always get people answering my questions when I post

Coming from a labor and delivery nurse who has seen the good and bad outcomes... you shouldn’t really listen to anyone but your doctor and your body. No one else knows your medical history . No one else was there for your last baby . No one but you had to experience your last labor. There are so many factors that play into a TOLAC (which is the correct term) becoming a successful VBAC. There are legitimate concerns and risks when trying to TOLAC. As long as you understand those risks and are willing to live with them no matter the outcome then you will be able to make a decision.

I will be going on my 5th VBAC and have had no issues..plus I would rather have it that way anyway..csection messed me up:(

My doctor didn't give me a choice. I want to have a vbac but my doctor said I'll be having a repeat csection because I didn't wait to get pregnant a year or two after giving birth 😥
