rice cereal ??

my baby is 13 weeks & only breastfed . 
i was think of introducing rice cereal around 4-5 months. i would start to mix it in a bowl and spoon feed it (thanks for letting me know it’s not safe) opinions ? 
should i wait until 6 months then?

Rice cereal has high levels of arsenic. It’s actually recommended to do an oatmeal, barley or quinoa based baby cereal.

I did oatmeal too at 4months, and a little in his bottle because formula wasnt keeping him full. It's your child, you do wants best for him. Mine will be 13yrs old and he did just fine

You shouldn’t start weaning before 17 weeks at an absolute minimum and only when:
- Baby is sitting upright unaided
- Has good hand to mouth coordination 
- Has a good pattern of weight gain 
(It’s a myth that babies need weaning just because they are getting ‘hungrier’).
The best things to start with are veg purées and the best ones for the first ones are orange veg so carrot, swede, pumpkin etc because they are the sweetest.
No personal experience of the matter this is just what I’ve read and advice I’ve had from my sister who is a nanny and has done this 10 times! 
She says to try not to rush into weaning.  It can cause real digestive issues if they aren’t ready.  I’d say 5 months earliest but you have to be led by baby really.
