I want to introduce to you our new chickens

They all look exactly the same, just some are way more bald than the others from being humped to freaking death I guess at their old farm (roosters rip feathers out of hens while mating. It’s just what they do but if there are too many roosters with your hens, the hens will all be bald and eventually they’ll literally kill them)

Boy they look like crap. They’re tired af.

Just like the human world they have to be quarantined from the rest of the chickens for 10 days just Incase they’re sick so they’re set up in a coop with everything they need and the first thing they did when they got here was lay 2 eggs. Just means they finally rested and let an egg out

These ladies don’t got to do anything but rest, eat some food and vitamins, grow some feathers back, get better and enjoy the breeze. No more getting humped to death. Poor ladies

And since they’re freaking bald they’ve been mated so I’m guessing these eggs are fertile. We are leaving them in the coop to give them the choice to sit on them or not. They probably won’t though

Update: so I sat up a “broody” box thing which just means a nesting box. All we have here are laying boxes. Too small. Would you want to hatch 10 babies in a small nest? I made it with an old bucket and screwed it to the wall.
