We had the same issue and decided to go with just Kit for our son and no one has had a problem with it - we thought why use the longer name if we will never call him that 🤷🏻‍♀️

I love the name Kit! I had a super hot professor named Kit and we all lusted after him (his full name was Christopher). I think it could stand alone, although it’s a little close to “kitty”. But do it if you want.
