Bacterial Infection 11 weeks

I had my first ultrasound last week to see baby #1 (yay!!) But they did routine tests and found I have BV. They want me to start an antibiotic when I enter my 14th week. I asked if I can do anything now for relief and they said I can start the antibiotic now...I *never* take antibiotics unless absolutely necessary but I'm even more hesitant to start it in my 1st trimester. I can handle waiting even though it's a little uncomfortable...Anyone have advice or experience with this?

I'm usually doing home remedies but I don't want to mess around with BV while pregnant.
