Anyone else's baby starting to hit?

I'm not sure if it is that he still doesn't have total control over his arms or if he is actually hitting! 
A lot of times when I pick my son up he bats/ hits my face with his hand. It's almost like he wants to feel your face but is too rough. This happens a lot of times when he is throwing a temper tantrum but sometimes he does it and thinks it's funny (so I'm not sure if it's specifically related to when he is upset). 
Anyone else's baby start doing this?

Yes my daughter does this she always smacks my chest when I’m holding her but when I put her on her play mat she smacks the mat like excited trying to feel it out so I think that’s what it is. But when it’s too hard I hold her hand and say gentle and touch me gentle then she usually just places her hand on me after stops smacking.

Lol yes.  He gets so angry that I won’t let him pinch me, pull my hair, or rip my glasses off my face so then he hits me in frustration.  I usually tell him no and that it hurts and set him on the floor until he chills out.

Yes, omg! He also pinches noses and digs his little nails in. We tell him no and try to redirect his hands. But sometimes it’s just too hilarious 😂 🤷‍♀️
