How much should you give for wedding gift?

I’m a college student and and a friend of mine is getting married. What’s an appropriate amount to give. I’m not working and a student so budget is very tight but I don’t want to give too little.

Look up the venue and see how much a meal would typically cost. A backyard brunch wedding you can gift less than a fancy ballroom dinner.

Whatever you can afford. I’ve brought a box of wine glasses and a great bottle of wine a few times when I was in college. That can fit into whatever budget you have because price is no indication of quality.
