baby vaccine during coronavirus outbreak?

Hi, my baby has a appointment for 4-month vaccines on May 11th ( it was originally scheduled on April 7th, we have delayed it for 1 month due to coronavirus outbreak), we live in New York State, shall I bring him to this appointment in May.? Or it’s better for me to postpone it again? My baby is too young to wear a mask and he loves to suck his fingers, I am extremely worried about that, what do you think?

Brought mine for his yesterday. Do not prolong it anymore. Our doctors office was taking every precaution possible (in NJ). Wait in the car until they call to tell us Doc is ready, everyone and us in masks, no one in waiting room, sick patients at night after all well visits are over, constant cleaning, etc.

I accidentally hit don't go, but I think you will be ok. I prolonged my babies too. The rescheduling appointment is coming up and as long as the numbers are not rising rapidly I will take her. Our state is reopened but the numbers have started to increase the past week so I guess we will see...

Call your pediatrician to discuss your concerns.  Most offices have put some sort of safety precautions into place... checking temps at door, going straight back to room or waiting in car,etc....  when we went a couple of weeks ago I kept baby girl in her car seat with a cover over her until we got into the room and then cleaned everything really well once we got home.

We just had our 4 month appointment. There were extra screening measuring in place both on the phone before and at the door.  I was on the fence about it but our pediatrician recommended continuing these regular check ups and vaccines.  Take in as little as you can - I carried baby the whole time and wore a backpack with anything I might need during the appointment and didn’t take it off.

We waited in our car and called when we got there. They called us when they were ready. Only one parent allowed in and they are keeping sick kids out of well patient rooms. They are being super cautious and limiting all traffic in the office. I think you’ll be ok. I wore a mask and so did her doctor. It was quick and you should definitely still go! 😊

I was so so impressed with the policies and procedures they put in place at my pediatrician. Felt so safe. Plus, they said a lot of patients were cancelling so it was slow and not many people going in 🤷🏼‍♀️

I personally wouldn’t ever skip out on vaccines. And most offices (especially pediatricians) seem to have their crap together. I know ours had certain offices for sick visits and certain offices for the well visits. They also took my temp prior to even walking into the waiting room. And I was the only one there at the time. I kept my baby covered up in her car seat until they needed her out. I took her out they did their thing and I put her right back in. Everything went fine and she’s fine.

I live in NY as well and we went to her appointment in April. Her pediatrician is part of a large medical group that has offices for all different specialties. We had to wait in the car until they were ready to bring us in, only well visits are In the morning and sick visits in the afternoon so they can clean after. I had to wear a mask and the nurse and doctor did as well. Everything was cleaned well before it was used for her, like the thing to check her eyes and ears, stethoscope, etc. I did not want to risk her not having her vaccines on schedule.

My baby got hers today! 
 I had to call from the parking lot before going. There was no one in the waiting room. No one in the hallways. When I was leaving I saw a nurse spraying down the whole room. The doctor told me sick babies were not seen at the same location. Also the doctor that sees sick babies are not seeing babies that are going for routine visits. I was scared of going but I’m glad I went. Call the pediatrician’s office and ask what measures are they taking to protect your baby.
