What should I do next?

Hi guys so I quit my job yesterday over text (I know it’s extremely unprofessional, but I wasn’t really thinking when I did it) and my manager hasn’t responded yet. I texted him around 7:30pm last night and it’s currently 5 am and I’m so stressed because I don’t know if he saw it. So if you have any advice on what I should do next, PLEASE lmk!!!

Your manager definitely saw it and is probably pissed off that you quit so rudely. Most people send an email and have a chat over the phone or in person saying that they are leaving and will give them 1 to 2 weeks notice. The manager has to change the roster and prepare, if you just quit by text message over night then he is probably trying to fix the hot mess you left behind with rosters and shifts. I would just leave it as the damage is done.

I’ve done this before 3 times in shitty jobs I didn’t give two fucks about. Leave it alone his probably pissed you didn’t come in and give notice. Does it matter? No! Never use them as a reference of course.. depending on how long you worked there leave it off your resume. Girl I’ve quit via email.. just never turning up again.. these jobs I did it to put me through hell and managers who didn’t know how to manage people

Just leave it alone. But think twice before doing this again unless you have really had it with your employer as this could bite you back should you need a reference, be asked why you have a gap in your resume and just generally building professionalism.
