my bf wants me to dress cuter

I’m very curvy and would consider myself pretty modest, so I can usually be found in leggings and tshirts outside of work, unless we’re going out to dinner or having a night with friends, where I’ll get dressed up. I wear business casual when I’m at work, so when I get home (and am with him) I prefer to dress comfier.

My bf is definitely the more fashionable one and is always updating his wardrobe/sending pics of shirts he wants to buy to get my thoughts. Lately, he’s been sending me pictures of clothes for ME and asking me if I like them. I don’t know if I’m being too sensitive or if my hurt feelings are valid, but it makes me feel like I’m not pretty enough or putting enough effort into my appearance. The clothes he sends me are super cute and I would love to wear them, but (for example) I don’t look cute in rompers and stripes are not my friend. I always have my hair and make up done, but I absolutely dread shopping for clothes because nothing fits right and I get discouraged. He’s said that he wants to go shopping with me sometime but the thought of having someone with me when I don’t even like going by myself is tear inducing.

He sent me a pair of palazzo pants this morning that were super cute, so I said “They’re very cute, but I think my thighs are too thundry for stripes”

and he responded with

“I gotcha I gotcha. Does it make you feel self conscious when I ask about clothes? I don’t want you to feel uncomfortable”

So I know he cares about my feelings and his intentions are pure, and I think a lot of it is my own insecurities and I def need to work through them, but wanted to get more thoughts on it.

Please help 😭
