Unmedicated birth?

Is anyone planning to do an unmedicated birth? If so, what are some of the tools you plan on using like hypnotherapy, doula etc. This will be my first and I've been doing some research on it, just nervous because I have no idea what to expect as far as pain goes.

Lots of positive birth story readings. Ina May Gaskin’s books, mostly. I’m also doing some Hypnobirthing training, and really trying to be active and moving around a lot before it’s go time.

HypnoBabies is what I’m using. It’s similar to hypnobirthing except you basically hypnotize yourself. I’ve heard many great stories - with that said I’m keeping an open mind and if I need a walking epidural then so be it! I will also have a doula so hopefully that helps

I can’t have an epidural due to my platelet count, so I don’t have a lot of options but I am hoping for unmedicated anyway. I wanted to have the option for gas, but they have stopped offering that due to Covid. Our hospital is only allowing one partner too, so if I have a doula, I can’t have my husband. We took a birthing class with our first that had a lot of techniques for pain management that we will hopefully remember! We never got to use them because I ended up with a c-section under general anesthesia. I am hoping to labor in water although I won’t be allowed to deliver in water. We’ll see I guess!

I'll be using hypnobirthing, I'm going to start practicing the breathing techniques and listening to rainbow relaxation as well to ensure I can achieve the hypnosis state I want. Since there's only 1 support person allowed right now, I'll be doing occasional practices with my husband so he can support me during it.

One thing that helped me on my second birth to stay strong was staying home as long as I could. That way I didn’t have the option and I could do whatever I needed to to help like walking tv and shower

Unmedicated for my first and my only plan was to try and labor in the tub if I could and lots of breathing techniques learned in birthing class. Other than that I didn’t have any plans because I know plans can change in an instance and you’re not really in control of the situation. It’s whatever is best for you and baby! 
For my second I have the same “plan”.

I labored for 15 hrs with my first, 10 months ago. I did it without anything. I just hummed through contractions and dealt with it. Couldn't tell you about the childbirth part because I ended up having to have a c-section due to a failed induction.

We’re taking a Lamaze class and have learned a lot from that. We talked about non-medical comfort measures and different positions this week. I think it’s reassuring now knowing how things should naturally progress and what’s normal especially being a FTM. I feel more confident now to trust my body to work through labor knowing what’s happening and why

This is going to be my fifth unmediated birth and my only plan is to go with the flow they are all different what really helps me is to try and relax and think that it’s almost over and that all the pain will leave l like silence so my husband knows not to talk to me when having contractions the only good thing is that my labors are really fast

Music always makes me feel better with pain , I just put headphones in & I'm right , still hurts but makes me take my mind off it a bit , always sitting on toilet helps take some of the pain away
