Dealing with withholding and constipation in 3 year old. What treatments other than Miralax worked for your kids?

We’ve tried everything with diet and have not had much success. Our 3 year old is going every 3-4 days and they are HUGE. I’m worried she’ll get megacolon so we’re looking into laxatives or stool softeners with her next peds appointment. What worked for your little ones?

Raisins, plums, apricots, apples, beets, pumpkin, beans, avocado, coconut oil, fatty fish, yogurt, kefir, prune juice
Figure out a way to praise her and reward her when she does poop.  Make it a really big deal and whatever would work for her as a reward, provide it.  If it’s based on anxiety, you will need to make this really special.  If it truly is based on a diet issue, you’ll just need to make adjustments.

My parents would give me Benefiber and at the worst of it suppositories. I hated pooping so I would always hold it

We have to do daily miralax and make sure she is hydrated. Doctor would not prescribe anything stronger until then.
