Am I Wrong For Not Defending My Friend?
I have a friend who's in a wheelchair. He was in a car accident when he was 15. We have been friends since we were 12. I've definitely been there for him and seen every part of him. He uses diapers and I became a CNA at 18 so I have had to change him. 3 days ago we were shopping for him and his mom and I ran into a college friends. We talked and at first he thought my friend Daniel was my client. Daniel told him about the accident. My college friend then got... Too curious. He asked he goes to the bathroom. I accidentally budded in and said a diaper. I'm a CNA so I'm used to it. I quickly regretted what I said. Daniel was obviously embarrassed. My college friend was being a complete asshole while talking to us. Saying he would just kill himself if he had to shit himself and just being rude and super loud in the store. I stayed quiet. Mainly because when colleges open back up I will have to see him. We are both doing a nursing major. I got us out of there and Daniel got really upset asking why I didn't stick up for him... I tried to make a joke out of it saying come on. I've seen it all with you. Poop, pee. Everything. He didn't find my joke funny and told me he didn't need my help anymore. Should I have defended him
Edit: I'm sorry guys. I know I'm in the wrong here. I'm so used to talking about this stuff because I'm a CNA, guess I kinda forgot I'm also a friend. I'm going over to his place to apologise to him and letting him know my college friend is no longer a friend to me. I get I see him when he's most vulnerable and I shouldn't have said that. I promise he's not a job. He is literally like a brother to me. I know I'm wrong here and thanks for saying it to me.
Quick Update: I went to see his this morning. I told him I was sorry. He said he's still upset, but he forgives me. I told him not to feel bad about what happened and that guy is a jerk. That he's my friend and I know he's more than someone in a wheelchair. I'm so happy we made up. Thanks for helping me guy,✍️❤️❤️❤️
