Latex allergy?

So i had been using Durex latex condoms for about 6 months with my boyfriend. They worked well but for some reason, all of a sudden, when we used them my insides started burning and itching. After that started happening we used Skyn non-latex condoms and there was no itching or pain afterwards. We ran out of Skyns so we went back to Durex and the same itching and pain continued. Is it possible to develop a latex allergy over time? because this didn’t happen for the first 6 months we were using them.

I was told by the representative who came to our lab to sell us gloves (latex and nitrile) that everyone has a latex allergy, it’s just hidden behind a ‘dam’. Every contact with latex puts a drop of water behind your ‘dam’, and whether or not you ever experience an allergy is related to how much your ‘dam’ can hold. This is why latex allergies are actually higher in the medical professions vs the general population, because of how much more often they come into contact with latex through all the glove wearing. So yes, it is definitely possible to suddenly experience a latex allergy you never had previously!
It seems like your dam just reached capacity and you started to see the overflow, so I would absolutely avoid latex. You could go and get an allergy test to be sure (maybe Durex changed the formula of the lube on the condom?), but I would try to minimise contact with latex.
