Daycare

Our daycare is still open, but we pulled my son basically mid March. He had RSV three times this past winter, and was hospitalized twice. My husband and I work together, and they just announced our return to office plan. It’ll be phases, starting May 18th. I’m phase 2 (no set date for that), my husband is phase 1. My parents have helped about 5-5.5 hours a day to watch him.

My husband initially was okay with going back to work. I had to point out that if he returns, then my parents can’t help, and I don’t want him in daycare yet where there’s no real way to control his safety. I feel like my husband would be a guinea pig in the first phase. If we didn’t have LO, I’d be okay with that... but LO is everything to me.

My husband understands now and is going to ask to change to phase 2. He talked to his sister (we all work together), and she doesn’t understand why we don’t want to put him in daycare. Hers shut down for her 2.5 yr old... and she is pregnant, and having a really hard time.

Just curious to hear other people’s thoughts/plans on daycare and returning to the office. (Sorry for the long post and understand if people don’t read it all! 😂)
