Anyone from Ontario sell treats/baked goods from home ?

I’ve been wanting to do a small business on the side for a while. I really enjoy designing and making chocolate dipped things(Oreos, pretzels etc) I don’t plan on doing anything huge just custom orders for birthday party’s, baby showers etc . 
When I google the requirements it doesn’t look nearly as simple as it seems. 
How can I do it FROM HOME with out running into any legal problems? I don’t mind having to pay for a license or something but I would like to do it from the comfort of my home.

I live in New Brunswick and my friend started a cookie business from home. A couple weeks later the health department called her and told her she had to start working from a licensed class 5 kitchen and had to pass a food safety exam. I think this was just a case of bad luck and jealousy (someone ratted her out) because typically it takes months even years before the health department contacts you. You can try running it from your home and see what happens. The worst that’ll happen is you’ll get a warning from the health department and at that point you can start looking for a professional kitchen to rent.
