Toddler saying word with mouth closed

My 19 month old says about 50 words now and talks all the time. But one word that he learned really early on was car. He learned it while still using a pacifier. So, now, his habit is to say car with his mouth closed or sometimes kind of at the back of his throat with his mouth open. Any idea how to correct this? Will it correct on it’s own if he just keeps hearing it the correct way?
