Gift for my cousin’s baby (update)

Lindsay • 28 🌈🌈💖 due 10/31/21!

My cousin is having a baby girl in a few months, and since I’ve had time to work on some crafts and projects, I figured I’d make something for her. When I asked my cousin, she said the nursery will be florals, and that she would like something with scripture. Her grandma (who passed away a few years ago) always used to say, “The lord make his face to shine upon you,” so I suggested that and she agreed that it was perfect!

Watched some watercolor tutorials on YouTube from Shayda Campbell, and practiced for two weeks before working on the final project. I used to hate watercolors, but recently decided to give them a try since they’re loose and can make some pretty gorgeous paintings, cards, and so on. I’m beyond happy with how it came out, and almost giddy with how excited I am to give it to her soon.

(I need to go over the word “shine” with gold metallic, but my only metallic paint marker is dried up and no good, so I’m planning to get a new one tomorrow.)

If anyone wants to know the supplies, i used Sakura Koi Watercolors (Pocket Field Sketch Box, 48 color), Artist’s Loft Watercolor Paper (140lb, cold pressed), and Artist’s Loft Watercolor Brush Markers (for the stems, stamens, and lettering).

UPDATE: Here is the finished product, complete with frame!

Update #2: Dropped it off to her today, and she almost cried because she loves it so much!! She said they’re going to hang it over the crib, which makes me so happy! 🥰
