How long did it take you to potty train your kid...boy girl?

I'm on day 9 of potty training... bad day today for potty training 🙃😅 some days my son seems more interested and not so much others...

I’ve been trying with my 3 year old everyday for the last 2 months and he’s still not interested. I’m not forcing it, I just take him to the toilet often but he doesn’t tell me when he has to go. He’s speech delayed

We've just been following his lead. I have no interest in forcing it. He was really interested a couple months ago, so we got him some underwear & tried it. Mixed results, ended up abandoning. Then a couple weeks ago he suddenly got interested again, so we got the underwear out again-- & he's had barely any accidents. Pooping in the toilet & everything. Easy for us too.

With my oldest son, it took us 4 months because we initated it and looking back now, we realise he wasn't 100% ready.
With our second son however, we completely followed his lead and only started once he was interested. Took us less than two weeks before he was completely trained, and we've only had a few accidents since.

I always wonder how people define “training” vs “trained” 🤷🏻‍♀️. I’d say things were pretty consistent (1 accident every 1-2 weeks) by about 4 weeks in, but I would say we were “trained” when he went a full month with 0 accidents & was pretty much always the one to initiate the potty break. That happened between 2-3 months. 
I also don’t consider that we started potty training until we started with undies, but I did spend months of “prep work” introducing the potty & encouraging him to sit when he wanted, reading potty books, etc. 
I imagine people’s votes vary a lot just based on their own definitions. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I haven’t started potty training yet cause my baby is still well— a baby! Lol but when my mom potty trained my little brother at like 2 all she did was let him run around without any pants or underwear (literally only a shirt) for a couple days & BOOM one weekend.
