16 month old baby is he talking or babbling?
My son consistently says a few words like dada (most frequently)
Dog/dougle which is the dogs name
Mama
Nana
Gogo
Gaga
Baba
Woof (when he sees the dog)
I've heard him say really short phrases including want that, hey dad, and he kind of says love you sometimes
I just found out he should be saying between 30-140 words?? Is that accurate? Honestly I'm probably mis counting a bit but I dont know if hes up near 30 words. He does try and I can tell he understands very well and responds very well. When I say who's in your room he will walk straight into his bedroom. And if I ask if hes hungry he walks into the kitchen and points to the cabinet with his snacks in it. If I ask him to throw something in the trash he will and if I ask him to put something away in the fridge he will. He loves to help around the house but He doesnt listen very well if I say no (like most babies) sometimes hell stop what hes doing but if were outside and he takes off and I tell him to come back he just stops and looks at me lol. My main question is is this developmental delay if hes not saying at least 30 words by 16 months? Even if he understands a wide range of complete sentences? What should I do to help him? Hes not very interested in mimicking my sounds. He does sometimes but only if he thinks it's a fun noise to make.
