For Parents That Share Custody of Their Kids..?

For those that coparent and share custody of their children with their exes, how are you doing it during COVID-19?

My partner has a son with his ex that is 3 years old. They shared custody but when this quarantine started they agreed he would stay with his mom for his well being since my partner was still working and being exposed to other people. That was fine. Well he stopped working two weeks later right before April started but his mom still insisted he stay with her. Our stay at home orders in LA were extended to May 15 so he hasnt had him in two months. He does drop things off for him and his mom lets him play with him there whenever he does. But his 3rd birthday just passed two days ago so my partners ex invited him over to spend time with him. Well when he got there he said it was a party. Small but still with other people outside of their household. Then yesterday her sister sent my partner a picture of them saying they took him to get his hair cut. To which my partner responded “you took him to a barbershop?” And then no reply until she just wrote “yes”.

So it’s frustrating that the whole purpose was to keep him safe and healthy yet she’s having other people over, and taking him out and still wont let him bring him home as usual. I understand his health is first but we don’t go anywhere aside from the grocery store whenever we need it. And other than that the only place he goes is to see his son. He’s not working still while she now is so it would make sense for him to be here. But he brought it up and she threw a fit. I think it’s just because she has a problem with me and doesnt want him around me. We’ve been together 2 years and im pregnant, and she would still throw fits before this of me being around him. Im talking about breaking his windows and slashing his car tires when she found out i moved in.

I know its not my place to say anything so I havent and I won’t, but im just curious as to how you all are doing it during this time and any advice?

Our county has begun reopening things like more stores, businesses and beaches but all in all the stay at home orders have been extended indefinitely.
