Do you buy newborn diapers or go straight to size 1?

We just bough some 2 newborns boxes and 1 size one box for now. This helped us. Also don’t open all the boxes. If you buy two newborn and only use one box, you can return/exchange. Also stick to one store— i was told places like target have a program where they let you return hassle free with diaper and wipes you don’t use. This should at least help us at first, i also didn’t want to stock up in case she’s sensitive to these diapers.

1 of every size. My daughter grew very fast and was in size 5 by 5 months!! So we used basically 1 box of each

Our first was 8lb7oz. I was told to not worry about newborn and I think she was in them for at least 2 weeks so we had several trips to get them. This time around we’re going to go ahead and buy a couple soft packs and see what happens. At least so we’re prepared to start with and not having to run to the store day 1.

Being my 3rd baby & knowing my kids grow super fast (they've both been in size 5 at 10 months old, tall kids). 
I buy 1 week worth of NB size & then 1 month worth of size 1. I learned after my 1st. I buy as I use. Can't afford to stock pile only because in my case its a waste of money. So we do a diaper savings instead of buying actual diapers.

I saw recommendations to have some of both. It’s especially important to have both right now depending on which state you live in because with all the continued panic buying, it may not be just a quick trip to the store to get a size up if you need it.

My baby was born 8lbs 1oz but ended up losing a whole 1lb after birth which I was told is common. She wore newborn diapers for a few weeks but mostly, we were in size 1 for awhile. So if you're trying to stock pile or put diapers on registry, I'd put mostly size 1 and then a couple newborn and a couple of size 2. Most stores will exchange if you haven't used the diapers without any problems, if you end up not needing them

I use the hospital newborn size and just buy size one. They send you home with lots.

When starting out I only bought the smaller package of size NB just because I didn’t know what to expect size wise. I ended up delivering early so we used NB for awhile.
I wouldn’t “stock up” right now because a few of my mom friends have said due to covid some stores aren’t accepting returns, including diapers. Or, you can stock up if you have some mom friends you can pass diapers around to.

I have a few small packages each of newborn, 1, & 2’s. As I get further along I will stock up on more diapers but I’m suspecting I’m need more size 1’s as with each scan she appears to be measuring at least a week ahead 😳 if I end up needing more newborn once she’s here we will buy them but with my son I was left with a bunch leftover that I couldn’t exchange because I opened the boxes 🤦🏻‍♀️
