My working hours are 9 - 5, and for half an hour of that I’m not paid because I’m supposed to have a lunch break. I have to get in 15 minutes early which I don’t mind, but what I do mind is sometimes getting out half an hour to an hour late without any pay for this extra work I’m doing, and that extra time adds up when it’s almost every day. Should I be asking to be paid for this extra time? I feel rude asking for it even though I shouldn’t be expected to work for free.
