My manager scares me sometimes, is it normal?

Hi, I’m a cosmetologist and I’m thinking about leaving the franchised salon where I’m currently employed. The reason why I want to leave? Well, I want to go off on my own 😊 I’m ready to take the big step! However, I’m afraid of my manager. She doesn’t take some things very lightly..especially when people want to leave her team.

She is super nice most of the time but I think she’s mean and judgmental than she is nice. For the team she always gets us things (gifts) when it comes to birthdays/anniversaries and she’s super flexible with schedules we love it, she also always tries to understand each of our situations and she’s always there when we have questions BUT when she’s angry she will show it. She has thrown stuff in the salon because she gets angry, talked bad about clients, talked bad about stylists, always wants to be the best manager-meaning there are different salon locations and she wants to be THE BEST she doesn’t like their help and likes to follow her own rules- And she just gets so angry when a stylist leaves the team which I’m very afraid of for when I break the news to her that I want to leave so I can be on my own.. I’m not sure how she’s going to take it. I feel like she’s going to talk about me and care less about me during my last days at the salon. Is it normal to feel afraid of a manager when leaving?
