Nervous about losing weight for the military
I'm at a crossroads in life rn. I took college courses in HS and did two semesters at University and crashed and burned despite having been a realitive B student in HS(burnout is REAL). They were horrible grade-wise and to my mental health.
I realized that I would have enjoyed college more if I actually knew what it was I wanted out of my life and I think joining the Navy will help give me some direction and purpose in my life.
The issue is is that before I talk to a recruiter, I want to get my weight and physical fitness squared away. I'm <40lbs heavier than the maximum weight requirement for MEPS for a female who is 5'6in.
While I was in school I went to the gym regularly and ate well enough yet I could only hit 187lbs after having been sick for two weeks and right after I got better, I was back up to 194. After Corona hit they closed the gym and I basically didn't go for 2-3 months and I'm back to square one. It's disheartening.
I know boot camp will be hard emotionally and mentally, so I don't want to have to worry about physically by too much either.
Does anyone have any tips for me?
