Blood tests, urine tests, a physical and lots of family history and any concerns or questions you have. Sometimes an ultrasound or doppler check for heartbeat depending on how far along you are. Basically they want to check for STDs and various infections.

Mine was 8 weeks. Did urine sample and blood draw, intra-vaginal ultrasound, pap (cause it’s been awhile for me), and the doctor talked to me about basically what to expect (in a nutshell). There was kind of a lot of info to remember, but basically the chances of bad stuff happening are relatively low and it’s his job to worry about it so I don’t need to be anxious; he recommended reading What to Expect when You’re Expecting and they gave me a bag with a bunch of stuff like prenatal vitamins samples and an info packet. Next appointment is 12 weeks, he said it’s gonna be a monthly visit for the first couple trimesters and every two weeks for the third (plus any extra stuff that comes up).

My dr did a vaginal ultrasound, took a urine sample (which she did at every appt), and did bloodwork.

Mine was urine sample bloodwork and went over my history and questions. She used the Doppler and would have gotten the ultrasound if she had trouble finding the heartbeat. Depends on how far along you are too I was 10 weeks. I already had early scans with a specialist though cause I’m high risk. Good luck !

It’s different for every OBGYN. Some do ultrasounds. Some don’t. You’ll just have to wait to see.

Might, mign not. Mine did n ultrasound to confirm a hearthbeat (that is required in my area to declare pregnancy). And they asked me back in two weeks to do all the measurements and analysis, like blood, urine etc and a talk bout history and future...
