Do I need to diet?

Question ladies I’m overweight and my dr didn’t seem concerned he actually told me to stop dieting as it’s stressing my body out but I was wondering is it better to diet and eat healthier like a low carb diet while doing an FET. My transfer is on Wednesday. Should I do a low carb diet while I’m pregnant or just eat what a want but in moderation?

So - during IVF I did everything right. Low carbs and ate healthy. Got pregnant from my first transfer and had every intention of continuing that healthy diet. Life laughed at me and gave me 24/7 nausea. Guess what I could keep down? Toast and bagels. That’s all I ate for 3 months. Month 4 I was able to keep chicken down and month 5 I can eat month again and trying to have less carbs now than I was having. 
I felt so guilty eating just carbs! I couldn’t keep a single fruit or veggie down. I went from being so good during IVF to having a terrible diet! My doctors told me pregnancy is just about eating whatever you can keep down. She said any calories was better than no calories and assured me that I wasn’t harming my baby. 
Just listen to your doctors! If you get nausea during pregnancy, your body will tell you what you can and cannot eat.
