How far is a tampon supposed to go?

Is it supposed to touch your cervix? My cervix is very sensitive and I hate when it gets touched. Very curious because I have decided to switch over to tampons when my next period comes. Also I’m aware tampons can make you dry down there, but If I were to switch to pads on the light days would that help the dryness?

I don’t think tampons are long enough to cause discomfort to your uterus. Mine never touches it and I’ve been using them for 15 years. You only have to put them in far enough where the applicator is in all the the way.

I don’t think that the tampon has to touch your cervix but you shouldn’t feel it/any discomfort. Also yes it’s a VERY good idea to use pads on the lighter days and at night to avoid dryness. Extra tip if you’re using a tampon on a heavy day wear a panty liner to avoid leaks.￼
