35 weeks offered a membrane sweep?

I had my 35 week appointment today and my doctor wants me back at 37 weeks and she said since I’m full term she can check my cervix and do a membrane sweep if i want to try to kickstart labor   - opinions? (I’m a FTM)

It’s does hurt , I was practically in tears for mine but I ended up giving birth to my son the next day . Everybody is different !

I had it done with my last pregnancy with my son I had an appointment that afternoon and went in and had him the next morning!:)

I'm surprised your doctor will do it that early but that must mean they are confident that baby is ready! I'd say if you are feeling ready for baby to come then that will make your decision. If not, let them cook a couple weeks longer 😊

I had one and it didn’t hurt but I also handle pain very well. I went into labor 3 days later (water broke)

I had one we 40 weeks 2 days and went into labor a few hours later. I don’t remember it being super painful.

I had it done at 40+1 and went into labor within hours with my first.  It was uncomfortable but not painful for me, but everyone is different.  Maybe it would be more effective if you waited until you’re closer to your due date? 🤷🏻‍♀️

I got one done at 38 weeks and had my baby exactly one week later at 39 weeks. No idea if this helped or not
