How did you choose the embryo for your transfer?

How did you go about selecting which embryo(s) to transfer? My husband wants to transfer a boy so bad (typical right?!). I am leaning towards transferring the embryo that was graded the best to improve probability of implantation.

We have a boy already and we both really want a girl this time to balance our family, so we’re choosing the best graded girl💕

We tested our embryos and chose the highest grade embryo to transfer. My first transfer was unsuccessful and my next one is coming up. We again chose the strongest grade embryo 🤞🏼 I have 2 AA embryos and 1 BB left.

You didnt do pgs correct?

Didn't PGS. All of my blasts were graded the same, which are the highest grades that can be recieved. Our team of embryologists choose the embryo to transfer. However, if we would have  had seperate grades we'd choose. I'd choose the highest grade first and go from there. Before my husband and I made the decision to not PGS test (we'd originally planned on it), we decided to let the gender be a surprise since nothing else really is. But that was just personal preference. Good luck!

I am right behind you in the journey about to trigger! I have been following your story and love that you bring this up. We are going to do PGS testing as well. We did pay for 3 tries. I would really love a boy as well haha . Our thoughts are if everything goes well for our retrieval and depending how many Make it to day 5. To transfer the highest grade boy (if we have one) at first. If unsuccessful we will go for the highest grade embryo for the 2nd try. And is the worst case scenario comes up we would do a 2 embryo transfer if we went on to 3. Of course we are praying everything goes well with our retrieval because that could definitely alter these plans.

For me it depends on the testing. I’m not ready to make that kind of choice until I know how many passed and what the gender is. What if you only get one gender? Or the boy is much lower quality? So many variables. Hubby wants a boy so bad he can taste it but he said with how much transfers cost and how long we have tried he wants the doctor to choose the best one and go with it. 🙏🏻
However if they all pass, are similar quality and you have both sexes, then choose what you want first!
