What does back labor feel like?

I’m 36 weeks and my back hurts so bad I can’t get comfortable. It’s getting more intense occasionally but it feels like I’m going to break non stop. Consistently. 
Idk if it’s back labor. Any advice?

My starting labor at home was so painful I couldn’t stop crying. It felt like period cramps x 1 million. I never felt anything in my back though so idk about that one

It felt like my spine and pelvis were being ripped in two different directions. When the nurse suggested a lavender essential oil patch to help I told her to get me the damn epidural and go f*ck herself. It was the worst pain imaginable. I’m 18 weeks with my second and can’t wait to do it all over again 🙄. Really hoping it’s not back labor this time.

I felt like someone had set my back on fire while also trying to rip my spine out and had no break in pain. As in the pain was constant, not coming and going like everyone told me labour felt like. From the very get go it was hard to breathe, I couldn't stand up straight or walk (I crawled) and I also felt nausea due to the pain (I also cried). Firm back massage helped a little bit but not much.
I'm still annoyed nobody warned me about back labour or that not everyone gets a break between contractions (after the fact my mum admitted she had a similar labour, but didn't want to scare me so didn't tell me about it).

You will know. I had back labor, my son was born sunny side up. It felt like my intestines had the worst cramp you can imagine and we’re getting ripped apart. It wasn’t really my back that was in pain. But just very far back and deep in my abdomen. And a lot of pain and pressure in my butt😳

With my first which was a boy my labor pains were front and back. INTENSE! Labor was over 18 hours. With my second which was my daughter it was only in the front, labor was only 3 hours and I was able to delivery her with no epidural. Im currently pregnant with my third and its a boy and I just hope I can deliver him with no epidural and hope the pains aren't so INTENSE as my first.

Get down on your hands and knees. This relieves pressure on your tailbone. If you are getting waves of this pressure/pain while on all 4s then it could be contractions (pre labor contractions that don't actually do anything or actual contractions that put you into labor). If it relieves the pressure then it's just the way the baby is positioned pressing on your tailbone. This is very common and you can get a belly band to help with that. It also works on round ligament pain. It gently lifts baby up so that you get rid of that pressure on your pelvis.

Back labor with my third labor. I had her naturally. Holy moly. It was the worst pain in my entire life. I’m very nervous when it’s time to have baby #4.

I had back labor (but it only started hours after my water broke naturally at 37 weeks). The only way I could get any relief was if my husband pressed a heated corn pillow (hospital wouldn’t allow any plugged in heating devices) into my back with a good amount of pressure. I did end up getting an epidural but then I was already 8 cm.

Feels like really really really intense period cramps in your lower back. I had it for a little while during my labor, but I was able to get my son repositioned by moving around.
