A man I'm interested in, is making me doubt him

I started talking to a man and have seen him a few times before the quarantine. He says he wants to wait until after he gets called back to work to hang out(he's a chef and I'm a licensed massage therapist). Lately, he's been mentioning hanging out with friends with no hint of when him and I will hang out again. Ive seen one or two of my friends but my gut is telling me I'm being avoided. Him and I have both said that we really like one another the last time we hung out. One of my other friends reaches out more than the chef does. I'm getting a sad feeling that I may need to start distancing myself from the chef I've been getting to know.😫
