LTC COVID ISSUES

I work in a LTC center & my admin is completely out of touch with reality right now. Our facility has been over run with COVID and we are just now starting to get out of the worst of it .

My admin is insisting that we (open back up) even though it is against state guidelines .

Wants to invite families to meet loved ones outside the facility In large groups (yet socially distant) . Even though this is also against state regs.

All other managers were in agreement they do not agree with this idea as we are still getting POSITIVE CASES daily in our facility. Yet when we all got in the meeting to discuss they all immediately flipped a switch and started agreeing with ADMIN . I left fuming , being the only one that continued to stand by what I know is right for the safety of everyone and advocating for our residents , staff , and residents family safety. I asked other managers wth after meeting and they all said they agree but do not want to argue with boss .

ARE YOU SERIOUS !!! you want to put peoples lives at risk because “you don’t want to argue “

This is why we have the problems we do.
